Now, I’ll admit that I was a little late to the party … I’ve listened to some great friends and family members as they have extolled the virtues of Hank & John Green’s witty and fabulous YouTube videos, but I hadn’t actually sat down to watch more than one or two of them at a time. Additionally, Hank Green, brother of John (who is, incidentally, author of the incredible “Will Grayson, Will Grayson”, “Looking for Alaska” and, most recently, “The Fault In Our Stars” – review coming), has also worked with a friend to create a modern-day web version of Pride & Prejudice, and I’ve read online at other sites about how fabulous the “Lizzie Bennett Diaries” are, and I hadn’t watched those either. To correct this, I decided to spend some time watching the Lizzie Bennet Diaries and the Vlogbrothers channel in general (BTW – the art heist episode? CLASSIC).
So I did all that. Today. And I’m not exactly sure where today went as a result.
I adore Lizzie Bennet, and I have a special place in my heart for anyone who can wittily pay homage in any way, shape or form to Lizzie and her family. Pride & Prejudice is a gem of a novel to me; one of those “What do you mean you’ve never read it/I will lend you a copy because I have six” kind of books that I love. I even loved Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, simply for the giggle factor.
Below, I’ve embedded the first six episodes of the sublime Lizzie Bennet Diaries – if you want more, you can search them yourself on YouTube. And you will want more. Trust.
Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 3 (this one isn’t behaving, so I’ll embed it as well)

I love these too! They provide such a fun fresh way to think about P&P.
Have you kept up with them since this post? Did you almost fall over like I did at the sight of the new character? So. Perfect!
Oh yes – I’m a devotee… Love it!
