So, you may have heard a little pop song called “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye. Yeah, it’s been kind of popular this summer. That is to say, it’s been overplayed to the point where I wished that it had been a song that I used to know.
However, you probably haven’t heard it like this – the artist has enjoyed watching how different people on YouTube have chosen to interpret his song, so he collected snippets from dozens of different musical versions, and put them together as a new orchestrated version. People, it’s AMAZING. If nothing else, I am blown away by how creative individuals can be, and how much talent there is out there in this world. They have transformed this song, and the fact that it’s the original artist who can step back and appreciate just what they have done makes it that much better.
