A blog about books. Oh, and some other stuff too.

Looking for something interesting to read this summer?

While doing this past week’s Top 10 Tuesday, Michele at Just a Lil’ Lost and I realized we had a few similar books that we wanted to finally get around to reading. After a long Twitter conversation, we realized that we would never get around to reading them if we didn’t do something to keep each other on track and honest. Thus, our summer reading challenge was born!

We’ve decided to read the books together, and then we will chat about it, either virtually or in person. Understanding that the summer can get busy and we have other books to also read as well, we figure allowing for a whole month to get to it would be sufficient. However, we’d love some company if you want to join us….

Michele, being the graphic genius that she is, made up a little graphic, just to make it all official and everything 🙂 Isn’t it lovely?

Here’s what we will be reading….

July: Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

August: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Let us know if you are interested in reading one or the other, and we will add you to the list. If there are enough, Michelle has offered to create a little “linky” thing to keep us all on track. She’s the tech person, y’all. Good thing, too….

Also – thanks to Michele for putting together the blurb for this endeavour!

  1. I’ve been meaning to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone for ages! I may try to read it in July. I don’t have a blog, but I look forward to keeping up with your posts/tweets! 🙂

  2. Love this idea! They are both such great books. I’d love to re-read one or both of them. Not sure I’ll be able to squeeze them in this summer, but I’ll definitely join in on the discussion
