A blog about books. Oh, and some other stuff too.

It’s An Anniversary!

Hard to believe that it was only four years ago that I started this blog… that’s a lot of books read over 1,460 days!

Four years ago, I was teaching students about starting their own blogs, when one of them asked me what my own blog was called. Considering I believe in ‘practicing what you preach’, I decided that it was a sign, and that the time was right. I’d been thinking about starting my own blog for a while; I’d met the lovely Misbehavin’ Librarian at a Kelley Armstrong signing, and she and some of the other bloggers present convinced me that I should start one up for my own reading thoughts. Who knew how many other amazing bloggers I would meet, both in person and virtually? From local author events to publisher soirees, to Book Expo America (4th year running!), I’ve had many amazing experiences and opportunities, and I’m grateful to all those who have made them possible. I’ve made wonderful friends in the blogging and publishing worlds, and consider myself incredibly fortunate to count so many fantastic authors as friends.

So how am I celebrating? Well, I’m guest posting over at Just a  Lil’ Lost today about the lovely and charming Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George – head over and take a look – and … since every party deserves a party favour, let’s give something away, shall we?

Tell me your favourite book in the comments or follow this link, and you’ll be entered to win a book off your wishlist. Contest is open to wherever Book Depository ships, and prize will be agreed upon between the winner and myself. Contest will run until May 2nd, and winners will be notified by email.

Thanks for supporting Lost in a Great Book over the past four years – I can’t wait to see what the next four years will bring!

  1. Congrats on 4 years! I’ll bet it’s hard to think back before you ever did this.

I’d tell you my favourite book but I can’t even think of one. Far too hard to think of one since too many rolling around in my brain. And it changes every time I read another book!

    • Thanks, Helen! You’re right – so hard to imagine what I did before this!
I’m in total agreement with you… I can’t pick just “one” favourite, so I often pick my “favourite book of the day” – gives me lots of options!

  2. Congratulations, Jenn! Here’s to many more years to come and great books to read 🙂

Favourite book? Hmmm. I’ll pick one of many: Lyndsay Faye’s The Gods of Gotham, in honour of the third book that series coming out next month (The Fatal Flame).
